Samantha Davis is in her first year as an assistant athletic trainer at the College of Charleston.
Her primary sport coverage is women's basketball and sailing. She also serves as the sports medicine department's mental health coordinator.
Prior to CofC, she served as an assistant athletic trainer at East Tennessee State University working primarily with women's basketball from 2015-18. Davis also supervised graduate assistants, who covered volleyball and softball.
In addition, she oversaw the budget and inventory for the athletic training department at ETSU and was an adjunct faculty member in the Sport, Exercise, Recreation & Kinesiology Department. Davis taught a three-credit hour course in the Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries.
Originally from Nashua, N.H., Davis graduated from Winthrop University with a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2013. She later completed her master's degree coursework in kinesiology and recreation with a concentration in athletic training and emphasis in manual therapy from Illinois State University in 2015.
At ISU, she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer providing coverage for the cross country and track & field programs. While in graduate school, Davis conducted original research and was published in the Journal of Athletic Training along with J. Stanek and T. Sullivan for the "Comparison of Compressive Myofascial Release and the Graston Technique for Improving Ankle-Dorsiflexion Range of Motion."
A member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and a NATA-BOC certified athletic trainer, she currently resides in Charleston.
