2015 (Sophomore): Played in 111 sets in 29 matches, started in three … Served as the team’s libero in 24 games … Finished fifth in the CAA with 4.08 digs per set … Led the team with 453 digs … Posted a career-high 30 digs against James Madison (Oct. 30) … Recorded 20 or more digs in 10 matches
2014 (Freshman): Vallez proved to be a dynamic addition to the team in 2014, playing both along the back row and at times on the outside…Vallez participated in 27 matches and played in 71 sets for the Cougars as they claimed the 2014 CAA regular season championship… Made her first appearance for the maroon and white in a three-set loss to Mercer during the home-hosted CofC Invitational, earning one dig and one assist… racked up five digs versus Eastern Washington on Sept. 2 at TD Arena… Played consistently well throughout conference play, notching five digs at William & Mary on Sept. 13, before a six dig showing in the Cougars’ crucial regular season crown clincher at Hofstra.
Personal: Local native from Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. ... led Wando to a Lower State Championship in 2013, finishing runner-up in the state title match ... was a SCCAWS 4A All-State performer in 2013 while also earning a spot in the 4A/3A North-South All-Star game ... South Carolina High School Sports Report tabbed her to their All-State team in 2013 ... earned All-Region honors in 2012 ... Max Preps Wando High School Player of the Year.
