Andy Russo

Andy Russo

Andy Russo is in his fourth year as an assistant athletic trainer at the College of Charleston.

He previously was a two-year graduate assistant athletic trainer and was promoted to his current post in the summer of 2018.

Russo works primarily with the men's and women's tennis programs and secondary with equestrian. He also worked with the men's soccer program at CofC.

Originally from Virginia Beach, Va., Russo attended Cape Henry Collegiate where he was a four-year letterwinner in baseball. He graduated in 2018 with his master's degree in sport management from The Citadel.

In 2016, he graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in athletic training. There, Russo gained clinical experience working with the JMU men's and women's soccer, women's lacrosse, softball and football teams. He also served as a student athletic trainer at Broadway High School in Broadway, Va.

He is a certified ATC and a member of both the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and the South Carolina Athletic Trainers' Association (SCATA).

In his spare time, Russo enjoys surfing, going to Folly Beach and playing ice hockey.
