Alabama A&M scored midway through the second half to snatch the 2-1 victory from the College of Charleston in men's soccer action this afternoon in Columbia, SC, at the Gamecock Soccer Classic being held this weekend.
The Cougars fall to 2-2 on the year while Alabama A&M improves to 2-3.
Ricardo Diaz Granados went on the board first off the assists from Keion Yearwood and Jeff Files at the 24:18 mark. Twenty minutes later at 41:30 Ikechuku Exiefule tied the game up off an unassisted goal. The game-winner came at 64:26 off Musa Manneh from Keston Lewis's assist.
Charleston out-shot Alabama A&M 17-13 but it went the other way in saves 4-6. Ben Hollingsworth led the Cougars in shots with four while Atigo Kayondo's six shots led Alabama A&M.
The second day of the Gamecock Soccer Classic will be held on Sunday, Sept. 14. College of Charleston will face Jacksonville in the early match at 12:00 PM, while the Gamecocks host the Bulldogs at 2:30 PM.
