The Alabama A&M Bulldogs scored early in the second half to take the 1-0 win over the College of Charleston men's soccer team this afternoon in front of 156 fans at Patriots Point Field in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
With the loss the Cougars drop to 5-5-2, while the Bulldogs improve to 5-10.
The Alabama A&M score was set up Cornell Castle, who drove the ball up the right side of the field and passed it back to the middle where Mosito Ranko was waiting to deflect the ball into the back of the net for the goal at 54:37.
The Bulldogs out-shot the Cougars, 15-12, with Charleston coming away with the 5-3 edge in saves. Scott Milroth and Jeremy Gold paced CofC with three shots each, while Ranko led Alabama A&M with five shots.
The College of Charleston travels to Georgia Southern Oct. 12th for a 4:00 PM match, while Alabama A&M hosts William Carey Oct. 22nd at 2:00 PM.
