#articleRelated { display: none !important; } Kathryn Boettcher took first in the 3000m run to help the College of Charleston to a third place finish at the 2005 Chanticleer Classic in Conway, S.C. on Saturday. The Cougars earned 59.50 points to finish behind the host, Coastal Carolina, and Charleston Southern.

Boettcher, a senior from Williamsburg, Mich., captured first by posting a season-best 11:09.28 in the 3000m run. Boettcher's time was over a minute better than the second place finisher.

In the 800m run, Wells Trompeter captured a third place finish with a time of 2:26.29 while Summer Chambless was third in the pole vault with a height of 9-06.25. Chambless also finished eighth in the javelin throw with a toss of 86-05.

The Cougars will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Clemson, S.C. for the Clemson Invitational.
