Kosha Lance set a new Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field record Saturday Afternoon at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Facility in the women's 20-pound weight throw with a mark of 64 feet, one and one quarter inches topping her own mark of sixty feet, one and one quarter inches set at last year's event.
Lance was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer for the meet and also qualified for the provisional round of the NCAA's.
Wells Trompeter placed in the one mile run with a time of 5:14.46. Dominiquie Boone earned a fifth place finish in the high jump with a jump of five feet, two and a half inches. Summer Chambless tied for third in the pole vault with a mark of ten feet, six inches.
"The women fought hard and I'm very proud of them," said head coach Amy Schuckert. "At least eight school records were broken, that says a lot about how well the women came together and supported each other and how they each accepted the challenge before them."
As a team the Cougars finished seventh in the final team rankings with a final point total of 26.50. Appalachian State took the top team honors in the women's division.
