CofC Finish Winthrop Invite With Strong Performance

The College of Charleston Women's Track and Field team competed at the 2006 Asics/Winthrop Track and Field Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Irwin Belk Track.
Summer Chambless had a second place finish in the pole vault as she tied her own school record with a vault of 11 feet, three and one-half inches. Chambless also recorded another top 10 finish as she finished seventh in the javelin throw with a mark of 100 feet, 11 inches in the event.
Ashley Arnold, fresh off of her record-setting performance in the 10,000 meters at last week's Raleigh Relays, placed second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:04.64 with fellow Cougar Kim Kingston finishing fifth with a time of 13:25.44 in the same event.
Kosha Lance continued to impress as she notched a third place finish in the hammer throw as Lance threw a distance of 173 feet and one inch. Lance also finished 10th in the discus with a throw of 118 feet and four inches.
Dominique Boone also kept up her strong season performance with a fifth place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 36 feet and 11 inches and a tenth place finish in the high jump with a jump of five feet and one inch.
Charleston will head north for their next meet as they travel to Durham, N.C. to take part in the Duke Invitational on April 7th.
