Jennifer Golden's three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning tied the game 4-4, but the College of Charleston's rally fell short as Ohio scored two runs in the final inning for its second win ? a 6-4 decision ? over Charleston in as many days in softball action at the Winthrop/adidas Tournament on Saturday afternoon in Rock Hill, S.C.

The Cougars, who fell to 12-13 on the season, will play Pitt at 9 a.m. on Sunday. A win will keep Charleston alive for a second game with an opponent to be determined. The Bobcats improved to 9-8.

Golden, who went 2-for-2, led the Cougar offense as she batted in three and scored a run. She was followed by Katie Pesature, who hit 2-for-3 and batted in a runner.

Marian Davis also hit a home run for Ohio as she was 1-for-2 at the plate with three runs batted in.

Terri Mesko went the distance in the circle for Charleston, giving up five hits, striking out six and walking two. Natalie Armstrong earned the win as she gave up six hits, struck out three and walked two.
