
Cougars Host Elon for Senior Day

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – Charleston softball hosts Elon for a three-game CAA series at Patriots Point beginning Friday, April 3.
Charleston is 7-5 in conference play with a 17-21 overall record in 2026.
Most recently, Charleston defeated in-state foe Presbyterian 8-1 on the road. Mackenzie Mathis picked up her 10th win of the season and matched her season high of 10 strikeouts in a single game against the Blue Hose. Mathis is currently ranked third in the CAA with 83 strikeouts so far on the season.
Cadence Alberty hit her first career home run on the first pitch during her first plate appearance of the game. Alberty has tallied eight hits so far in her rookie season with four runs.
Against Presbyterian, Leela Langston drove in two runs for a season total of 38 RBI to lead the Cougars. Sierra Paradis also tallied two RBI in the victory while scoring one run herself.
Elon currently holds an 11-23 record with five CAA wins. Most recently, the Phoenix were swept by Campbell at home.
The Phoenix hold a slight 41-34 advantage over the Cougars in the overall series history. Most recently, Charleston fell to Elon in the CAA Conference Tournament 4-3.
Saturday against Elon, Charleston will celebrate nine graduating seniors on Senior Day. The game is set for 3 p.m. with Senior Day ceremonies beginning at 2:35 p.m. Saturday will also feature an egg hunt for fans prior to the beginning of the game.
To elevate the fan experience at Patriots Point, all concession stands at the College of Charleston baseball and softball contests will now operate as cash free points of purchase beginning April 2 when Cougar Baseball hosts High Point.
