
College of Charleston Men?s Soccer Team falls 1-0 at Elon

ELON, N.C. --- The College of Charleston men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Elon in Southern Conference action on Saturday night.
With the loss, the Cougars fall to 7-5-0 overall, 1-2-0 in the SoCon, while Elon improves to 5-7-1 (4-0-0 in the SoCon).
In the first period, Elon got on the scoreboard quickly, as Justin Wyatt registered his seventh goal of the season 39 seconds into the match. Teammates Steven Kinney and Erfan Irmeni were credited with an assist on the play. Elon went on to out-soot the Cougars 4-3 in the period and took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Cougars had their fair share of attempts on goal, as the team took six shots in the period. They, however, could not convert on any attempt, and Elon held on to win their third-straight contest.
For the Cougars, goalie Clark Hankins made three saves and kept Elon off the scoreboard for the rest of the match after giving up the early score.
The Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 14th, when they host Georgia Southern at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
