
CofC Outslugs Quinnipiac, 30-10; Ties NCAA Hit By Pitch Record

The Cougars, who play at Charleston Southern at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, improved to 10-2 overall with their seventh straight win. The Cougars enjoyed season-highs for runs scored, hits and bases on balls. The Bobcats fell to 0-8.
For the Cougars, Joey Bergman (Jacksonville, Fla.) collected three hits and set a school-record by scoring six times. Bergman and Sizemore added three hits each to pace Charleston's 20-hit attack. Clay McCord (Atlanta, Ga.), Sizemore and Daniels scored four runs each, while Matt Mansilla (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) was 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBI.
The Bobcats were led by Anes Koumal who went 4-for-4, and Bryn Doyle who collected two hits, including a grand slam in the fifth inning. Mike Marmo and Jeff Carino added two hits each for the Bobcats.
Robert Jeroszko (2-0) picked up the win in relief. Jersoszko allowed an unearned run on four hits with a strikeout in 2 2/3 innings. Kyle Birdsall (0-1) suffered the loss.
