The men's team has been fine-tuning its skills since participating in the Hokie Challenge on Jan. 24. Charleston faced players from nationally-ranked Indiana and Harvard. Co-captains Lukas Koncilia (Tyrol, Austria/Franciscian) and Mickael Trintignac (Le Cannet, France/St. Maria School) defeated Josh MacTaggart and Alex Van Gils of Indiana, 8-6, in the top flight of competition.
Sophomore Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium/Athenne Royale Margueritte Bervoets) also picked up a win at the Hokie Challenge. In one of the longest tiebreakers in NCAA history, Delme defeated Harvard's Josh Tchan 7-6 (22).
Anderson has been selected to finish second in the Conference Carolinas after capturing the program's sixth straight conference tournament title in 2009. The Trojans were ranked 22nd in the country among Division II schools, finishing 14-7 overall.
Limestone, also a member of the Conference Carolinas, was tabbed to finish third in the league this year, right behind Anderson. The Saints earned their first NCAA Division II tournament bid in 2009 and was ranked 33rd on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's preseason poll.
After completing its trip to the Upstate, College of Charleston will return home to host its first home game of the 2010 season against Gardner-Webb on Feb. 12.
