MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team is set to host the Pride of Hofstra University tomorrow in their Colonial Athletic Association home opener, at the CofC Tennis Complex, where doubles play is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
The College (7-6) enters the most arduous stretch of their schedule Monday, in which they are set to play six matches over a six day period. The previously ranked Cougars went 3-2 this past week at home, grinding out victories over Appalachian State, Southern Miss and Richmond, while falling to No. 25 Notre Dame and No. 6 North Carolina. Monday's match will be the eighth of 14 consecutive home dates for the Cougars, who are led on court number one by recent CAA women's tennis Player of the Week, Kelly Kambourelis. CofC has also been bolstered by the recent strong play of freshman Cypriot Mara Argyriou.
SCOUTING HOFSTRA
Making their first appearance in Charleston, the Pride (0-3) enter the match fresh off a loss to the Blue Hens of Delaware this past Saturday in their first CAA match of the season. Hofstra is led by director of tennis Lauren Leo, who is in her second year at the helm. At number one, the Pride are paced by 2013 third team all-CAA selection Sarah Bowen.

College of Charleston Director of Tennis Angelo Anastopoulo
On facing the Pride in tomorrow's CAA home opener…
“I'm excited about tomorrow's match and the opportunity to face Hofstra. I'm also excited about showing off our facilities to fellow CAA teams, as we hope to host the conference championships here in Charleston at some point in the future.”
WEATHER CONSIDERATIONS
In the event that inclement weather systems make play impossible, the match will be made up on Wed, Mar. 19, at 5:00 p.m. The Cougars are also set to face UMass earlier that day at 1:00 p.m.
