Darien Huff had the best game of her collegiate career Wednesday in the Cougars 60-50 home-win against the Appalachian State Mountaineers. The freshman scored a career-high 16 points on a highly efficient shooting performance, going 5-of-8 from the field, 2-of-3 from deep, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Not only that, Huff was effective in other phases as well, matching her career-best five rebounds while chipping in a steal and an assist.

Junior Canyon Barry led College of Charleston to a 2-0 week and a 5-2 start to the season for the first time since 2012. He averaged a team-leading 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.5 blocks per game in wins over preseason Top 25-ranked LSU (70-58) on Nov. 30 and crosstown rival The Citadel (82-74) on Dec. 5. Barry shot 35 percent from the floor and 78 percent (11-of-14) from the free throw line against the Tigers and Bulldogs combined. He poured in a game-high 19 points versus LSU and has reached double figures in scoring in six of seven games this season. Barry currently ranks No. 37 nationally averaging 20.0 points per game.
