
Edwards Signs with Cougars

CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston head men's basketball coach John Groce has announced the signing of Kobe Edwards to the 2026-27 Cougars' roster.
A 6'2" guard from Wilson, N.C., Edwards is a four-star prospect by 24/7 Sports and the fourth-ranked player in the state of North Carolina by ESPN.com. A 2026 NCISSA 2A State Champion, he has been a standout player with Boo Williams on the Nike EYBL circuit and was a finalist for North Carolina's "Mr. Basketball".
"It's a great day to be a Cougar as we announce the addition of Kobe Edwards to our Charleston Basketball family! He is coming off a decorated high school career at the Greenfield School (NC) where he won a state championship this past season and was a finalist for North Carolina's "Mr. Basketball"," said Groce. "Kobe is a super competitive and dynamic guard who impacts the game both offensively and defensively. He possesses the ability to both score the ball at a high level and facilitate for others. His athleticism and speed will also be a perfect fit for our up-tempo style of play."
Edwards scored 2,355 points during his prep career. He was a 3x NCISAA All-State honoree, 2x Wilson Times Player of the Year, and 2x CPUC Conference Player of the Year at the Greenfield School. He was also named a USA Today Second Team East All-American and earned MBP honors at the John Wall Holiday Invitational.
