
Green Signs with Charleston Men's Basketball

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston head men's basketball coach John Groce has announced the addition of Max Green to the 2026-27 Cougars' roster.
The 6'6" junior guard spent the 2025-26 at Northwestern after being named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year at Holy Cross in 2024-25.
"We are very excited about the addition of Max Green to our Charleston Basketball Family! He is another outstanding student-athlete who really fits the College and our basketball program," said Groce. "Max has produced at the college level already and will bring positional size and versatility at the guard spot. Along with his high-level playing experience, he is also a dynamic shot maker and play maker who will absolutely thrive in our style of play."
The Kentucky native averaged 4.3 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game at Northwestern, seeing action in 23 contests. He scored a season-high 16 points vs. Cleveland State.
Green started at 31 games during his rookie season at Holy Cross, averaging 14.9 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, and 3.5 assists per game – all of which led the Crusaders. He was the only Patriot League rookie in conference history to average at least 14+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 3+ assists per game. He scored a career-high 25 points vs. Loyola (Md.) and reached double-figures 26 times.
He received the Patriot League Rookie of the Week award nine times, tying the record held by C.J. McCollum (Lehigh, 2009-10) and Marquis Hall (Lehigh, 2006-07).
Green attended Oldham County High School in La Grange, Ky, where he led the state of Kentucky with 32.1 points per game in his senior year on his way to being named 2024 8th Region Player of the Year.
