First Half Woes Spell 3-0 Loss for Cougars

NEWARK, DEL. - The College of Charleston men's soccer team (3-6-2; 1-3-2 vs. CAA) went down 3-0 in the opening half, and that would prove to be the final score Saturday night as the Cougars fell to the Delaware Blue Hens (9-4-1; 4-2 vs. CAA).
- The Cougars surrendered the three goals of the game to Thomas de Villardi (10'), Ben Sampson (29') and Fede Prieto (33').
- Tucker Heffron logged the first start of his collegiate career, ultimately playing 63 minutes of action.
- The Blue Hens outshot the Cougars 14-11, but only 9-8 in the shots on goal department. Nicolas Jeausseran led all players on either team in both shots (4) and shots on goal (3).
- Two yellow cards were assessed to each team over the course of the game. Of note, Leland Archer picked up his third of the season, meaning he'll have to be mindful of his play through the rest of the year or else risk missing a contest.
The Cougars will be back in action at home Tuesday for a challenging non-conference test against No. 8 North Carolina (10-2-1) at 7 p.m.
