Overtime Goal Sinks Cougars at GSU

DECATUR, GA. - The College of Charleston men's soccer team (3-8-3) managed to go blow for blow with the Georgia State Panthers (11-6) through 90 minutes Wednesday night, but overtime proved to be the Cougars' undoing as CofC fell 1-0.
• Brian Kilgallon saw his first action of the season, and played a big role in the Cougars reaching overtime. The Panthers outshot the College 9-5 in the opening frame and 19-13 over the course of the game, and Kilgallon was called upon to make seven saves on the evening.
• The game came to its conclusion in the 96th minute when GSU's Liam Fitzsimmons fired one in, Kilgallon made the save, but Kyle Clinton was there to clean up the rebound.
• Avery Ryan returned from injury to play his first action since CofC's west coast swing against Seattle and Washington, and led the Cougars with three shots (2 SOG) on the evening.
The Cougars return home to Patriots Point for a Senior Night showdown against Northeastern (6-9; 3-4 vs. CAA) on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
