Cougars Fall to Drexel in 3-0 Loss

PHILADELPHIA – The College of Charleston women's soccer team (8-5-1; 1-2-1 vs. CAA) surrendered a goal within the first five minutes Friday and never recovered, ultimately falling to the Drexel Dragons (8-5-1; 4-1 vs. CAA) by a score of 3-0.
• Drexel's Vanessa Kara got the scoring started for the Dragons in the fifth minute when she cleaned up a rebound off of a saved shot. Laura Hamilton (27') and Kylie Strong (67') scored later on to put the game out of reach.
• The College went down 9-3 in shots at the end of the first half, but rallied in the second half to reduce the differential to only two (13-11). Laura Ortega led the way with three.
• Meredith Tunney played all 90 minutes of the game for the 12th time this season.
The Cougars will return to action Sunday when they square off with the Delaware Blue Hens (3-11; 2-3 vs. CAA) at 1 p.m. in Stuart and Suzanne Grant Stadium.
