GAME PREVIEW
The College of Charleston men's basketball team (6-3) is riding a three-game winning streak and hosts Anderson (S.C.) University in a non-conference tilt on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. (ET) at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Cougars enjoyed a seven-day layoff between games to study for final exams week. They have defeated the likes of former Southern Conference archrival Davidson (76-61) on Dec. 4, Navy (70-64) on Dec. 1 and USC Upstate (72-60) on Nov. 27. In that particular stretch, the CofC defense held all three opponents to only 61.7 points per game and a 28.4 shooting percentage (19-of-67) from long range. The Cougars currently rank No. 42 in the nation and second-best in the Colonial Athletic Association in three-point field goal percentage defense (29.4%). Sophomore Jarrell Brantley is tops in the conference with three double-double performances on the year and is the reigning CAA Player of the Week. He turned in 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in the Davidson win.

SCOUTING ANDERSON
Anderson was picked to finish ninth in the South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches poll. Sophomore guard Randall Shaw is currently the team's leading scorer averaging 20.3 points per game and was named to the preseason All-SAC Second Team. The Trojans' three wins on the season have come against Armstrong State (77-76) on Nov. 12, Mars Hill (76-65) on Nov. 22 and Southern Wesleyan (81-65) on Nov. 28. The NCAA Division II school will play back-to-back games this weekend versus Newberry in conference play on Dec. 10 and College of Charleston on Dec. 11, which counts as an exhibition game for the Trojans.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN …
After the Anderson game, the Cougars will embark on a five-game road stretch through the holiday break at East Carolina on Dec. 15, LSU on Dec. 19, Western Carolina on Dec. 22 and a conference-opening weekend at Elon on Dec. 31 and Delaware on Jan. 2.

COUGAR SOUND BITES
"It's the next game and another opportunity for us to go out and play and get better. It's kind of a neutral game for us on Sunday. We thought it was very important to play a game there during the season against another team, before the conference tournament is played there in March. It's the next game on our schedule and we don't have to drive too far to play the game. We are excited about it. We've had some good practices to get prepared for Anderson – a team who is very capable. I respect NCAA Division II schools and played Division II (at Georgia College). There are a lot of great Division II programs and certainly Anderson is one of them." – College of Charleston Head Coach Earl Grant on playing in the North Charleston Coliseum and prepping for Anderson

"We are excited to continue to develop and grow our team. There are only seven practices left with four more games before the break. These practices are very precious to us right now. We have to get better each and every day. We haven't had a real strict regimen of exams this week, but will next week. We practiced, took some days off and did some individual workouts. We should be fresh and ready for Sunday." – Coach Grant on balancing practice and final exams this week

"It will feel like more of a home-court advantage for us and it's good for us to get a game under our belt there. I haven't played a game in there and neither have my teammates. It will be good for us to get experience in the arena. We want to get used to the floor, the depth perception and the fan feel. Basically, get a feel of the gym, so it won't be new to us when conference tournament play comes around in march." – Junior Guard Cameron Johnson on playing an early-season game at the North Charleston Coliseum – site of the 2017 CAA Men's Basketball Championship

"We will watch film on them, get in good practices and dummy down their sets. We remain focused despite having to balance practice and studying for final exams this week and next week. We are all old enough now where we know how it feels to only win nine games (in a season). We don't take any games lightly. Every challenge is a challenge and anyone can win on any given day. We definitely are not overlooking Anderson." – Cameron Johnson on balancing final exams while also preparing for Anderson on Sunday
