CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The College of Charleston men's tennis team wrapped up competition at the Queens Royal Rumble this weekend, as six Cougars got to showcase their talents in the four-team tournament.
Davidson, James Madison and Queens were the four other teams in attendance. Competition was originally scheduled to last through Sunday, but rain storms in the area canceled most of day two and all of day three.
The Cougars matched up with players from Davidson on Day one.
Juan Estevarena defeated Axel Fries in Flight 2 Singles by a score of 7-5, 6-1.
Ryan Khan (6-3, 2-6, 6-3),
Easton Thomas (4-6, 6-0, 6-4) and
Alec Angradi (6-3, 6-4) all won matches in flights four through six as well.
Fernando Ramirez Lascurian was the only Cougar to complete two singles matches on the weekend. The College also picked up a doubles victory when Estevarena and
Benedikt Henning picked up the 6-4 win in Flight One Doubles.
The Cougars will have the next five days off before heading to Ambler Tennis Stadium in Durham, N.C. for the ITA Carolina Regionals.
