Tindall Wins High Jump as Cougars Close Out Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The College of Charleston track and field program wrapped up the final day of the Colonial Relays Saturday, achieving four top five finishes to conclude the meet.
Julisa Tindall pulled off an outright win in the high jump championship with a season-best leap of 1.75m. Simone Harris finished second in the university discus throw with a toss of 37.56m, while Alex Coyle finished closely behind her with a distance of 37.85m to take fourth. Asia Johnson added a fourth place finish in the university shot put, finishing fourth with a heave of 12.63m, just 1cm shy of matching her personal best.
Elsewhere in the field events, Breanna Tatum finished 17th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.86m.
The Cougars logged a 19th place finish in the 4x100m relay with a time of 49.19 from Deanna King, Leona Burton Rojas, Maya Pringle and Holly Driver. Pringle and Burton Rojas went on to team up with Brianna Lewis and Jordan Gravelle in the sprint medley relay to take a matching 19th place finish with a time of 4:20.10.
Driver, Marissa Small-Towns, Kayla Ennis and Gravelle finished things off with a time of 4:03.08 in the 4x400m relay.
The Cougars' next meet of the year will be next Saturday, April 8, when they travel to Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. to take part in the UNF Invite.
