SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – For the second time of his career, College of Charleston's
William Rainey (Charlotte, N.C.) was named to the Division I PING All-Region Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Players across six regions – Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West – earned all-region honors and Rainey was selected among the East Region honorees.

He closed out his four-year career as the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Year, a 2016 Division I PING All-America honorable mention selection, the program's first-ever NCAA Division I Men's Golf Individual Finalist in 2016 and a five-time conference champion (one individual and four team titles).

Rainey ranked among the top players in the nation during both his junior and senior campaigns. He also left his mark in the school record books ranking second all-time in single-season scoring average (71.58 in 2016-17) and tied for first all-time in single-season tournament wins (2 in 2015-16).

Rainey's college career was also highlighted by twice being named to the All-CAA First Team and qualifying for the U.S. Amateur Championship at Olympia Fields in 2015.
