Cougars Off to Conway for Wednesday Contest with Coastal

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's soccer team (2-3) will square off with a regional foe on Wednesday, when they will head up Highway 17 to take on Coastal Carolina (2-4) at 7 p.m.
The Cougars come off a heartbreaking conference opener that saw them fall 1-0 in overtime to Northeastern. The College dropped the game despite outshooting the Huskies 14-5.
CofC and Coastal Carolina have a lengthy history. Since joining Division I back in 1991, the Cougars hold a 4-10-3 record against the Chanticleers. CCU has won the last four meetings, with CofC's last win coming on the road in 2010.
Coastal Carolina is off to a 2-4 record to start the season, but have the distinction of defeating Charlotte 3-2 when the 49ers were ranked No. 16 in the country. CCU's last two games were both road-losses to Radford and Georgia Southern, but the Chanticleers have yet to lose at home this season. Frantzdy Pierrot is the only multi-goal scorer on the season thus far for CCU, while Braulio Linares-Ortiz has spent the majority of time in goal.
