MT. PLEASANT – The College of Charleston men's soccer team (2-5-1; 0-1-1) peppered the Georgia State net with shots all night long on Tuesday, but the Panthers (6-3) escaped with a win thanks to a fortuitous second half goal to secure the 1-0 win.

• After outshooting GSU 11-2 in the first half, the Panthers answered back in the 56^th minute when Javen Palmer scored his first goal of the year, angling a shot in from the corner of the net after a long send-in bounced around.

• A minute before, Lorenz Esposito made a huge individual play when Lukas Joyner fired a rebounded pass at an unattended net. Esposito stepped in with his body to reject the shot and keep the game scoreless.

• Georgia State started the game with the best opportunity of the first half, firing in a shot that careened off the crossbar.

• Vebjorn Krovel, Leland Archer and Curren Paige played full 90-minute games for the Cougars.

CofC will hit the road for their next two games, beginning with a Saturday night tilt against the Elon Phoenix.
