CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Lily LaBiche and Eva Nyikos finished play at the ITA Carolina Regional this weekend with Nyikos picking up a win in the consolation bracket before withdrawing through injury.

LaBiche began play on Thursday in singles qualifying single elimination action, dropping the qualifier to Bethan Taylor of Presbyterian College.

Nyikos qualified for the singles main draw, opening the tournament on Friday with a round of 64 loss to Silvia Chinellato of South Carolina, 6-2, 7-5.

Moving into the consolation bracket on Friday afternoon, Nyikos defeated Daniela Naupari of Gardner-Webb in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the round of 16. In a matchup with Peyton Pesavento of Wake Forest, Nyikos had to withdraw due to injury.

Head coach Angelo Anastopoulo and the women's tennis team now look to the CofC Classic held at Patriots Point Tennis Complex, Nov. 2-4.
