Cougars Stay Perfect in CAA With 3-1 Win at UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. --- Allison Beckman (Apex, N.C.) recorded a double-double with 44 assists and 16 digs, and three Cougars recorded 12 kills apiece as the No. 15 (VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll) College of Charleston volleyball team defeated UNCW in four sets on Wednesday night to stay perfect in Colonial Athletic Association play.
 
With the victory, College of Charleston (13-5, 4-0 CAA) extends its win streak to five matches after defeating UNCW (8-4, 1-1 CAA) by scores of 25-15, 26-24, 15-25, and 25-15. The Cougars totaled 52 kills, 72 digs, eight blocks, and seven service aces, while attacking at a .252 clip. UNCW finished the match with 49 kills, 46 digs, nine blocks, eight aces, and a .195 hitting percentage.
 
Beckman turned in her second double-double of the season with 44 assists and 16 digs, and Kennedy Madison (Evansville, Ind.), Devon Rachel (Louisville, Ky.), and Lauren Freed (Troy, Ohio) each put down 12 kills. Rachel added 10 digs to account for her team-leading seventh double-double, while Madison's four solo blocks ranks third on the program's single-match list.
 
Logan Manusky (San Diego, Calif.) and McKala Rhodes (Charleston, S.C.) collected 14 and 12 digs, respectively. Peyton Eisnaugle (Dallas, Texas) chipped in eight kills and a .400 attacking clip, as Mandy Napierala (Rochester, N.Y.) finished with seven kills and three blocks.
 
Maddy Kline led the way for UNCW with 13 kills and eight digs, as Halle Hunt added 11 kills, three digs, and three blocks. Kendall Bender chipped in nine kills and six blocks while hitting .421. Brynn Montgomery and Michaela White dished out 20 and 17 assists, respectively, while Katie McCullough collected a match-high 19 digs.
 
The Cougars return to the court on Friday, October 5 when they host Hofstra in CAA action. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm in TD Arena.
