Rivalry Renewed: The College Looks To Continue Winning Ways Against Georgia Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team looks to build on its three-game win streak on Wednesday when the Cougars welcome regional rival Georgia Southern to Patriots Point in midweek action. First pitch is set for 4:00 pm.

Game Preview  
The Cougars and Eagles meet on the diamond for the 64th time on Wednesday, with Georgia Southern winning the last four meetings - including a sweep of the season series in 2017. Georgia Southern leads the all-time series by a narrow 32-31 margin.
 
Last Time Out   
The Cougars rebounded from a tough Friday setback to LIU Brooklyn with three straight wins, including a 7-0 shutout on Sunday. Cameron Garrett and Bradley Dixon each drove in two to pace the offense in the Cougars' 8-2 series-clinching win on Tuesday.
 
Back-to-Back-to-Back Jacks       
The Cougars hit the program's first back-to-back-to-back home runs since 2011 on Saturday, when Luke Morgan, Logan McRae, and Danny Wondrack led off the third inning of CofC's 11-4 win over LIU Brooklyn with three straight solo homers.
 
On-Base Machines          
Dupree Hart and Danny Wondrack have each reached base in each of CofC's eight games this season - with Hart currently carrying a seven-game hitting streak. Hart and Luke Morgan have each posted four multi-hit games thus far.
 
Steadying Hands             
Sophomore starters Griffin McLarty and Jakob Frishmuth have each opened the season with back-to-back solid starts, combining for a 3-0 record and a sub-1.00 earned run average in 20 and one-third innings of work. Frishmuth enters the third week of the season with a 2-0 record, a 0.82 ERA, and eight strikeouts; McLarty is 1-0 with a 0.96 ERA and nine K's.
 
Scouting Georgia Southern         
Georgia Southern is riding a four-game winning streak following a 1-3 start to the season. The Eagles kicked off the week with a 9-3 win over The Citadel following a series sweep of Fairfield.
 
Christian Avant leads the Eagles with a .462 batting average, while Chandler Corley has one home run and seven RBIs to his credit. Mason Mcworter is batting .267 with one homer and six RBIs.
