Box Score TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team (2-0) made it a perfect two for two in this weekend's season-opening competition, as the Cougars dispatched Florida A&M by a score of 5-2 at Florida State's indoor facility.
All three doubles matches were determined by 6-3 outcomes, and it was the Cougars who emerged with the point thanks to wins on the top two courts.
Juan Estevarena paired his first flight doubles win with a top flight singles victory over Federigo Nani (6-3, 6-4) to remain undefeated on the season.
Ryan Khan emerged from flight three play with a decisive 6-2, 6-2 win, while
Ksawery Pociej joined Estevarena by earning the distinction of winning both his doubles and singles matches, grinding out a 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 triumph over Luis Espinoza in flight four.
All in all,
Easton Thomas was the hero for the Cougars, as the sophomore clinched the winning fourth point with his sixth flight win over Ilya Skoromnyy in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 6-2).
The Cougars remain on the road for one more match against Furman on Feb. 10
th before making their home debut the following day on Feb. 11
th against Stetson.
