MOBILE, Ala. --- The No. 21 College of Charleston beach volleyball team jumped out to an early lead with victories at fours and fives and never looked back on Tuesday afternoon, as the Cougars came away with a 4-1 win over Spring Hill College (Ala.).

With the win, College of Charleston improves to 6-3 on the year while Spring Hill drops to 5-3. Allison Beckman (Apex, N.C.) and Lauren Freed (Troy, Ohio) made quick work of their match at fours with a 21-11, 21-9 victory, before Taylor Foley (Agoura Hills, Calif.) and Logan Manusky (San Diego, Calif.) posted a 21-14, 21-17 win at fives to put the Cougars in front early, 2-0.

After Spring Hill got on the board with a 21-17, 21-19 win at ones, Devon Rachel (Louisville, Ky.) and McKala Rhodes (Charleston, S.C.) won at twos, 21-11, 21-15 to put the Cougars in front, 3-1. Kennedy Madison (Evansville, Ind.) and Riana Brennan (Los Gatos, Calif.) closed out the 4-1 victory with a gritty 19-21, 21-11, 15-12 comeback win at threes.

Lauren Hollman (Union, Ky.) and Britney Vallez (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) posted a 21-14, 21-17 decision at sixes, while Megan Morris (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) and Jane Feddersen (Leesburg, Va.) won at sevens, 21-14, 21-10. Mandy Napierala (Irondequoit, N.Y.) and Ella Ridinger (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) recorded a 21-17, 21-13 victory at eights.

The Cougars return to the sand tomorrow afternoon in New Orleans, La., where they'll take on University of New Orleans. First flight is slated for 2:00 pm CT.
