CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston heads to the Northeast this weekend to take on Hofstra and Northeastern in a pair of road tests in Colonial Athletic Association action. The Cougars will face Hofstra on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. in Hempstead, N.Y. and Northeastern on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in Boston, Mass.
THE OPPONENTS
Hofstra carries a 9-7 record overall record this season and stands at 2-2 in league play after sweeping Northeastern on Wednesday evening. The Pride rank second in the CAA in kills per set (13.34) and fourth in hitting percentage (.212). Senior Laura Masciullo is third in the league in kills per set (3.93) while Luisa Sydlik paces the conference in assists per frame (10.78).
Northeastern is 7-9 overall and 1-3 in conference action after falling in straight sets to Hofstra on Wednesday. The Huskies are third in the CAA in hitting percentage (.219) and fifth in aces per set (1.46). Natalie Sholin ranks fourth in the league in hitting percentage (.391) while Samantha Shupe is fifth in aces per frame (0.36).

NOTABLES
- The Cougars split with Elon and William & Mary last weekend to move into a four-way tie for sixth in the CAA standings.
- Four Cougars are averaging more than 2.00 kills per set over the last five matches including a team-leading 3.16 clip for Mandy Napierala.
- Sophomore Molly Russell enjoyed her best match as a Cougar in last Sunday's sweep of William & Mary with a career-high nine kills on 14 swings – all in the final two frames.
- Senior Peyton Eisnaugle has been solid over the last five matches averaging 2.16 kills per set while hitting an even .300. The 6-foot-1 middle blocker is also averaging a team-high 0.84 blocks per frame in that span.
- Junior Logan Manusky has been a stalwart on the back row over the last five matches averaging a squad-best 4.79 digs per set. She posted a career-high 29 digs in last Friday's five-set thriller against Elon.
- Freshman setter Tori Carpenter put together a tremendous weekend against Elon and William & Mary averaging 9.88 assists and 2.38 digs per set while snatching the starting role. She nearly recorded a triple-double against the Phoenix before notching her first collegiate double-double against the Tribe.
- Freed has been lethal from behind the service line so far this season with a team-high 21 aces through 16 matches. Her average of 0.37 aces per set ranks third in the CAA.
- Kepner, the Cougars' all-time wins leader, needs eight victories to reach the 300-mark for his career.
