The Short Story: After the Cougars took an early lead, Elon scored two unanswered goals to earn the win.

• Seniors Alyssa Beck and Talia Colchico took a team-high two shots.
• Elon held the edge in the shots category, 9-8, while shots on goal was even at 4-4.
• Overall, seven different Cougars took a shot at goal.
• Sophomore Hannah Farmer scored the lone Cougars' goal and freshman Olivia Freitas registered an assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• CofC took an early lead 44 seconds into the match when Farmer received a Freitas' pass and beat the keeper to the bottom left corner of the net.
• Elon evened the score at 1-1 just before halftime.
• The Cougars took three consecutive shots early in the second half, but each shot was saved or blocked.
• The Phoenix scored the game-winner in the 84^th minute to make it 2-1 from a converted free kick just outside of the 18-yard box.
• Junior Leah Deutsch nearly evened the score to 2-2 in the 90^th minute but her shot landed just outside of the post.

The College will return to action as they take on Northeastern in Boston, Mass. on Sunday, Oct. 20 with kick-off scheduled for 1 p.m.
