CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston beach volleyball team will resume its 2019 schedule this weekend at UNCW's Dig and Dive Beach Bash on Saturday and Sunday in Wilmington, N.C. Charleston will face Carson-Newman and Coastal Carolina on Saturday, and Florida Gulf Coast and Morehead State on Sunday.
The Cougars carry an unblemished 8-0 record into the weekend after sweeping five matches from Florida Southern (twice), Texas A&M Kingsville, Huntingdon, and Carson-Newman two weeks ago at the CofC Beach Bash. Top pairing
Kennedy Madison (Evansville, Ind.) and
Lauren Freed (Troy, Ohio) and No. 2 duo
McKala Rhodes (Charleston, S.C.) and
Devon Rachel (Louisville, Ky.) are each 8-0 so far this season.
Coastal Carolina is 8-5 on the season, while Florida Gulf Coast and Morehead State carry overall records of 4-4 and 4-1, respectively. Carson-Newman is 0-8 for the year. The Cougars take on Carson-Newman on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m., followed by a 2:30 p.m. matchup against Coastal Carolina. Charleston will play Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday at 8:30 a.m., and Morehead State at 12:30 p.m.
