ITA RANKINGS
CHARLESTON, S.C. – After defeating back-to-back nationally ranked doubles pairs in the last week, senior Christi Woodson and junior Anastasia Palaska have entered the Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Doubles Rankings, checking in at No. 86 in the latest International Tennis Association release on Apr. 16.
Woodson and Palaska are 16-6 as a duo in the number one doubles spot this season, winning their last five matchups, also going 8-2 over the last 10 matches with a 2-1 record against nationally ranked opponents.
In the last week, the Cougars doubles pair has defeated #41 ranked Ivone Alvaro and Elena Muller of Tulane, 6-3, also defeating #79 ranked Charlotte pair Tai Martin and Immie Cowper, 6-2.
Prior to that, the two-time Colonial Athletic Association Doubles Team of the Week won both road matchups against James Madison's Abby Amos and Daniela Voloh, also defeating Elon's Alex Koniaev and Maria Paraja the same weekend.
The No. 86 ranking attained by Woodson and Palaska is the highest doubles team ranking for Charleston since Katherine Schofield and Jenny Falcone finished the 2015 season ranked No. 76 in the nation after defeating the countries No. 1 doubles team at Patriots Point.
Woodson and Palaska are back in action this week at the CAA Championships in Elon, N.C., as the #3 seeded Cougars face the #6 seed Delaware on Thursday afternoon.
