The Cougars and Eagles meet for the third and final time this season on Wednesday in Statesboro, Ga. with CofC looking to snap a four-game losing streak against Georgia Southern.
Scouting Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern enters the week with a 23-17 overall record and a 10-8 mark in Sun Belt action after taking two of three at Coastal Carolina this past weekend. The Eagles are batting .279 as a team this season with 31 home runs and 76 doubles.
Steven Curry leads the Eagles with a .364 batting average, while Noah Ledford is batting .295 with a team-high nine home runs. Mason McWhorter paces Georgia Southern with 12 doubles and 31 RBI's. Wednesday's starter, Tyler Owens, is 4-1 this season with a 4.43 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 40.2 innings. He has faced the Cougars twice already in 2019, and is 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA against The College.

The Eagles hold a 36-33 all-time lead in the series, and have won each of the last four meetings. Charleston's last win against the Eagles came on Feb. 28, 2018 in a 3-0 victory at Patriots Point.

The Cougars collected their third series win of the CAA campaign over the weekend at Northeastern after dropping the opener on Friday. Charleston erased a 5-1 deficit on Saturday to win, 7-5, before taking the series with a 7-1 victory on Sunday.

Chris Graham has been superb over his last 10 games, batting .391 (9-for-23) with eight runs scored, seven RBI's, and three extra-base hits. He put together a pair of game-changing performances last week, including a four-hit effort with three RBI's and three runs scored at Coastal Carolina. The Leland, N.C. native then went 2-for-3 with two runs and his first homer as a Cougar - a two-run shot - in Sunday's win at Northeastern.
Third Time's a Charm

Brooks Lucas turned in one of his best performances of the season in his third career start on Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and striking out five in seven innings at Northeastern. The Greenville, S.C. native now stands at 4-1 on the season with a 3.82 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 10 appearances.
Late Inning Prowess
Charleston has been one of the most dangerous offenses in the nation during the late innings this season with a run differential of +51 in the sixth inning or later - compared to its overall run differential of +50. The Cougars have scored 102 of their 236 runs (43.22%) in innings six through eight, while lighting up opposing bullpens to the tune of a 6.21 earned run average.
