CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team resumes its road swing with a trip to Athens, Ohio this weekend to participate in the Bobcat Invitational on the Ohio University campus. The Cougars will face Ohio and Virginia on Friday at 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. respectively before squaring off against UConn at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
THE OPPONENTS
Ohio has opened the season with wins over Northeastern, American and Winthrop and currently stands at 3-4 entering the weekend. The Bobcats are averaging 1.97 blocks per set while combining for 12.60 kills per frame. Maggie Nedoma paces the Bobcats with 2.93 kills per set while Dahlias Bouyer headlines the defense with an average of 1.20 blocks per frame.
Virginia carries a 3-4 mark into the weekend after dropping three straight matches to Liberty, Rutgers and Towson. The Cavaliers rank 34th in the nation with an average of 2.55 blocks per set. Grace Turner (3.63) and Jelena Novakovic (3.12) lead UVA in kills per set while Milla Ciprian paces the defense with 1.40 blocks per frame.
UConn is 3-3 on the season after picking up wins over Iona and Central Connecticut last weekend. The Huskies are averaging 2.3 blocks per set thus far while holding opponents to a .171 hitting percentage. Caylee Parker leads the UConn attack with an average of 3.71 kills per set. Genna Florig and Alexandria Garland pace the defense at 1.25 and 1.00 blocks per set respectively.

- The Cougars entered the weekend still in search of their first win this season following a pair of five-set hear breakers in Wyoming.
- Peyton Eisnaugle accounted for 13 of the Cougars' 35 blocks last weekend to go along with 21 kills and a .327 hitting percentage.
