Cougars Open Up CAA Play As They Host Hofstra

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Men's Soccer return home to open up CAA play as it faces off against Hofstra on Saturday, Sept. 14 with kick-off scheduled for 1 p.m. at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
Last Outing
The Cougars faced off against Radford in a neutral site match at USC Upstate's campus. The match ended in a 0-0 draw at the end of extra time. In the match, five different Cougars took a shot at goal while CofC held the edge in shots, 11-10. Senior Tucker Heffron had a chance to take the lead and potentially win the match but his penalty kick was saved by the Radford keeper.
The Opponent
Hofstra finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 10-6-5 and a 5-2-1 record in conference play. This season, the Pride have logged a 2-2 overall record, with wins against Fordham and UMBC, and are 0-1 in CAA play. Long-time Head Coach Richard Nuttall is in the midst of his 31st season at the helm of the program. He has registered a 277-239-69 overall record during his tenure with the Pride. Hofstra's Frederik Rieper leads the team in goals with two, while three others have score one apiece.
