The College Takes On Davidson On The Road

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Women's Tennis hits the road to face off against Davidson on Friday, Feb. 21 with a start time of 3 p.m.
The Cougars
CofC enters the match with a 5-3 overall record, most recently defeating defending Big South Champion Winthrop by a score of 6-1.
The Cougars took the doubles point after dominating performances by Halli Trinkle/Eva Nyikos and Ava Turner/Catalina Medici in the No. 2 and 3 positions, respectively. In singles play, the Cougars quickly won three matches, capped off by Medici's match sealing victory in the No. 6 position.
Freshman Halli Trinkle leads the team with a singles record of 6-1. Trinkle and doubles partner junior Eva Nyikos hold a 4-2 record in doubles play this season, which leads the Cougars.
The Cougars are 3-2 in their last five matches, outscoring their opponents 21-14 in that span.
Head Coach Angelo Anastopoulo
"It will be a real challenge playing two very tough teams on indoor courts without much practice this week because of the rain. However, it will provide needed experience in case this occured during the CAA Championships."
Scouting Davidson (3 p.m. start time)
Davidson comes into the match with an overall record of 3-4. The Wildcats most recently fell to Elon on Feb. 16 by a score of 5-2. Davidson is 3-2 in its last five matches with wins over Gardner-Webb, Kennesaw State and Queens of Charlotte.
Head Coach Susanne Depka is in the midst of her third season at the helm of the program. She has accumulated an overall record of 33-20 over the last three seasons.
