CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston men's soccer team (3-5-2, 0-3) traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia for a CAA clash with William & Mary (3-4, 1-2) on Saturday afternoon in a match that would go down to the wire.
In the first half, the Tribe had a quality look at the goal and fired a shot on frame. However, senior goalie
Cameron Smith was there to deny William & Mary with a spectacular sliding block. As for CofC, senior
Jake Nicholson had a decent look at the net but could not convert. The score would remain knotted up after the first 45 minutes of play.
The second half was quiet for the Cougars. Sophomore
Jakob Kristensen saw a chance at the goal and fired a shot, but William & Mary's goalkeeper was there to save the shot. The match turned in the 83rd minute. After a CofC foul in the box, William & Mary was rewarded with a penalty kick. The Tribe took advantage of the chance and drilled it. The score would hold for the next six minutes, giving William & Mary the 1-0 victory.Â
