GAME PREVIEW
Conference play begins for the College of Charleston men's soccer team as it travels to William & Mary for a Sunday, March 14 meeting on the pitch at 1 p.m. (ET) in Williamsburg, Va.
The Cougars are coming off a 2-1 decision at No. 23-ranked Coastal Carolina on March 7, while the Tribe won a 2-1 double-overtime thriller at George Mason on March 6.
Freshman forward Jakob Kristensen, one of eight newcomers on the squad, netted his first career goal against the Chanticleers.
"We have had a decent start to the season," CofC Head Coach Keith Wiggans said. "Defensively, we have had a pair of clean sheets which is very important to me. Last weekend was a very tough match against a good Coastal Carolina team. It showed us that we can compete against any team."
This will only be the fourth time for Charleston to play on the road at W&M since joining the Colonial Athletic Association prior to the 2013 season.
"We have our hands full the next four weeks with great competition in our conference," Wiggans said. "We are excited to get started with our match at William & Mary this weekend."
