CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston beach volleyball team will host its first of two tournaments this weekend when the Cougars welcome Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville and UNCW to the Creekside Tennis & Swim Complex for the CofC Beach Invitational.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cougars went 2-2 at the UNF Beach Spring Fling with wins against North Alabama and Eckerd.
THE OPPONENTS
Coastal Carolina comes into the weekend with a 7-4 record after posting a 3-1 mark against Jacksonville, Mercer, Southern Miss and No. 16 South Carolina at the Carolina Challenge.
Jacksonville is 2-8 on the season and is looking to snap an eight-match losing streak.
UNCW carries a 2-6 mark into the weekend having lost the last two to No. 16 Stetso and Coastal Carolina on Mar. 6.
NOTABLES
- The Cougars are looking to build on a 3-2 win over Eckerd at the UNF Spring Beach Fling last weekend.
- Ella Reames and Maria Zweig lead the way for the Cougars with a 9-3 record on the season. The duo started the season with a seven-match winning streak.
- Sky Benjamin and Rebeca Olariu are 6-6 on the season in the top flight including victories against North Alabama and Eckerd last weekend.
- Ella Ridinger and Kyra Thompson rank third on the team with five wins with three victories in the third flight and two in the second.
