van Altena Nets First Career Goal In CAA Clash With JMU

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston sophomore defender Cas van Altena netted his first career goal in a 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association setback to James Madison on Saturday at Ralph Lundy Field.
In the 72nd minute, van Altena scored off a free kick from 30 yards out bending the ball into the net past JMU goalkeeper T.J. Bush. It was the tying goal to match Ethan Taylor's in the 38th minute for the Dukes (3-0-1, 2-0-0 CAA).
JMU made eight of their 10 shot attempts in the first half of play. Taylor would once again breakthrough Charleston's defense scoring his second goal of the game, unassisted, in the 73rd minute.
Freshman forward Eneko Sancho had three of CofC's seven shots in the contest with one on target.
Up next, the Cougars (0-3-3, 0-2-1 CAA) will continue conference play at Elon on Sunday, April 4 game at 4 p.m. (ET) in Elon, N.C.
