CONWAY, S.C. --- The College of Charleston beach volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Coastal Carolina and No. 16 South Carolina on the final day of the Coastal Carolina Invitational on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cougars fell to Coastal Carolina, 4-1, in their first match of the day despite Ella Reames and Maria Zweig pushed their season-opening win streak to seven matches. Charleston then dropped the last match of the weekend to No. 13 South Carolina, 5-0.
 
PAIR OF THE DAY
Reames and Zweig went 1-1 on the day to swell their record to 7-1 on the season. The duo ground out a 21-16, 10-21, 15-12 win against Coastal Carolina's second pairing before narrowly falling to South Carolina's No. 2's in three sets.

• Ella Ridinger and Kyra Thompson pushed their opponents to the limit in the third flight against Coastal, falling 27-29, 16-21.
• Reames and Zweig dropped their first sets of the season with a three-set win against Coastal and a 2-1 setback to South Carolina's two's.
