12/3/2022 2:33:00 PM

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston looks to make it two in a row against Palmetto State foes on Sunday when the Cougars host Charleston Southern in a 2 p.m. tipoff at TD Arena.

This is the most played rivalry in Cougar women's basketball history with Sunday marking the 69th game in the series. The 56 wins against CSU are 20 more than any other opponent the Cougars have faced.

The Cougars won last year's meeting at CSU by a score of 96-60 to extend their winning streak over the Bucs to six. The last game at TD Arena was a 79-52 Charleston victory in December 2018.

The Cougars (3-3) opened a three-game homestand on Friday with an 85-81 win over Coastal Carolina behind a career-high 33 points by Jada Logan and 20 from Jazmyn Stone. Logan is third in the CAA in scoring at 20.7 while Stone has three straight 20-point games and is averaging 22.7 over that span.

Charleston leads the CAA in scoring at 76.5 points a game with Stone (12.7) and Jaila Roberts (10.3) joining Logan in double figures. The Cougars are also the second-best rebounding team in the league with 40.2 per game including 15.7 on the offensive boards, the latter figure ranking 30th in the nation.

The Buccaneers (2-6) are paced by Catherine Alben with 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Sha'Mya Leigh averages 7.8 points and has team highs with 14 assists and eight steals.

Following Sunday's game, the Cougars are off until hosting Berry on December 13 in their final non-conference home contest of the season.
