Cougars WBB To Host Elon for Annual Pink Game

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's basketball team returns to action on Sunday as the Cougars get ready to defend home court against Elon. Sunday's contest is the annual Pink Game in an attempt to raise awareness for not only breast cancer, but all cancers that impact women. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear pink. 

Notes and Nuggets
  • The College of Charleston Cougars are on a two-game win streak following a 61-59 win over William & Mary. Charleston completed a season sweep of the Tribe, making them the first CAA team for the Cougars to beat twice this season
  • Charleston improved to 3-3 in games decided by five points or fewer
  • In the Cougars' thrilling win over William & Mary, Charleston's top three scorers were all from its senior class. The Cougars were led by Arynn Eady's 20 points, with Tyler Collins and Latrice Perkins each pitching in 14 points
  • Charleston is 11-4 when Arynn Eady scores in double figures and 3-0 when the senior forward reaches 20 points. Eady has now scored 20-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time in her career
  • Entering this season, Eady had scored 20 or more points just three times in her career. She has amassed three such games so far this season
  • Eady has nine double-doubles this season. She sits inside the all-time top five in CofC's DI history in career blocks and rebounds. Eady is on pace to be the school's all-time rebounder in its D1 history by the end of the season
  • CofC remains undefeated - a perfect 6-0 - when holding its opponents to fewer than 60 points in a game
  • The Cougars shot 13-of-14 (92.9 percent) from the foul line on Friday. This performance brings the team's free throw percentage to 74.2 percent, good for third in the CAA and 78th in the NCAA.
  • Jenna Annecchiarico's 86.6 percent mark from the free throw line is the CAA's best and 30th nationally
  • Elon is one of three opponents remaining on CofC's schedule that sit below the Cougars in the CAA standings
  • The Cougars outrebounded William & Mary 38-33 on Friday. The Cougars improved to 8-0 this season when pulling down more boards than the opponent. When it ties or loses the battle on the boards, CofC is 4-10
  • Charleston is 2-3 against the top three teams in the CAA, owning wins over Drexel and Towson. The Cougars 3-1 against the bottom four squads in the standings, with a chance to improve to 4-1 with a win over Elon

  • Elon is coming off a 10-point win over UNCW
  • The Phoenix are 13-11 this season, but 3-7 in CAA play
  • Elon is led by senior Brie Perpignan, who averages 16.8 points and 5.4 assists per game. Perpignan recently surpassed the 1000 career points milestone
  • Prior to its win over UNCW, Elon had lost four consecutive games
