CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston women's tennis team (5-5, 0-0) cruised to a 5-0 win over Richmond at the CofC Tennis Center on Friday morning. The win moves the Cougars to 5-5 on the season.
Slade Coetzee and Halli Trinkle continued their dominance in singles play, picking up wins in the first and second flights, respectively. The two also improved to 6-2 in doubles action with a 7-6 win. Elizabeth Nowak and Helena Huff also picked up singles wins. The other two matches went unfinished.
The Cougars swept doubles with wins by the duos of Clara Errard/Kate Earnhardt and Maja Jekauc/Elizabeth Nowak.
"With the uncertainty of weather forecast, we started singles first," head coach Angelo Anastopoulo said. "The team handled the change in the normal format with A+ marks. Elizabeth Nowak did a great job coming back from 2-5 down in the second set to win 7-5 and clinch the match."
