CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston heads into its final three games of the season beginning Thursday against Monmouth at 7 p.m. with a berth in the CAA Tournament hanging in the balance.
The first-ever meeting between the Cougars and Hawks will be a Pups on the Pitch night. Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the game but must sign a waiver assuring that their pets are up to date on all vaccines.
The Cougars are in a three-way tie along with Delaware and Stony Brook for seventh place in the CAA with nine points. The trio is two points behind UNCW for the final spot in the conference tournament but each has played one fewer game than the Seahawks.
Monmouth appears to be securely in the postseason with 17 points, good for a tie for fourth. Following the game against the Hawks, Charleston hosts William & Mary on Sunday and concludes the regular season at Elon on October 22.
The Cougars opened their current three-game homestand with a 1-1 draw against Stony Brook in their last outing. Delaney Dawes scored her third goal of the season with 17 minutes remaining to pick up one point in the standings.
