BUIES CREEK, N.C. --- College of Charleston volleyball fought to erase deficits in the second and third set Sunday but fell to Campbell 3-0 to close the weekend (25-16, 25-23, 25-20).

Anna Smith had a match-high 13 kills and
Lexi Wierzbicki added 10 kills of her own but efficient hitting from the home Camels gave them a second win in as many days.

After Charleston erased a 20-15 margin in the second set to tie it at 23-all Campbell got back the serve on a Charleston error then closed it out with an ace. The third set saw Charleston and Campbell trade early runs with neither side able to create a lead larger than four until the Camels stretched it to 23-17 on a block.

- Anna Smith had a match-high 13 kills with five coming in the second and third sets each as Charleston battled back to erase deficits.
- Tynley Smeltzer made it 10-straight matches with at least 16 digs since the start of CAA play finishing the weekend with 32 – 16 each day.
- Lexi Wierzbicki added 10 kills and team-high two service aces as well as five digs. Her and Smith each finished with a match-best 13 points.
Match Notes
- Anna Smith led the Cougars in kills for an eighth time her junior season, the third time in CAA play.
- Tynley Smeltzer made it 10-straight matches with 16-or-more digs. The junior has paced the Cougars in digs in12-straight matches dating back to their weekend tournament at Western Kentucky.
- Sunday was just the third loss to a CAA team that has joined the conference the last two seasons – Stony Brook, North Carolina A&T, Hampton and Campbell. Charleston is 5-3 against the four newest members in league matches with their first two against Hampton scheduled for the regular season finale.
- Sunday was just the third loss this season when Charleston finished with more digs than the opponent.
