CONWAY, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team defeated the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 84-83 on Saturday evening in a nail-biter in HTC Center.
The Cougars were led by
Jenna Annecchiarico and
Jada Logan, who both finished the matchup with 20+ points.
Taryn Barbot also contributed to the win with double-digits.
The Cougars started strong, ending the first quarter with a nine-point lead. Continuing, Charleston climbed to their biggest lead at the start of the fourth quarter with 16 points.
From there, Coastal Carolina began to cut the lead, with an 8-0 run halfway through the fourth. With the Cougars unable to get their shots to fall, the Chanticleers downed a shot from beyond the arch to tie the matchup and send the game into overtime.
In overtime, Annecchiarico's consistency from the charity stripe was enough to keep even with the Chanticleers. A final layup from Logan sealed the deal and kept the Cougars in the win column.
